Edo of Japan

Space. Calm. A quiet minimalism. An emptiness in all its depth of beauty. Stillness with a rare moment of movement. Subtle colour - warm or cool. Gentle figures and silent faces provide a quiet yet strong energy. The works are sometimes meditative - if not moreso. David’s latest exhibition is inspired by the historical Edo period (1600-1868). His first exploration into Asian culture, Edo of Japan was photographed and created over two visits on 2024 and 2025. The beautiful towns renown for there Edo period were explored - Takayama , Kanazawa, Kyoto and Kawagoe. The Culture and people within provided much heart and influence. Thirty two new works were launched at its opening at Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre (gallery) in Nov 2026.
